My Social Butterfly!

My Social Butterfly

Caring for an aging parent is rewarding as well as draining. There are many moments when you are reminiscing, cajoling, and performing care-giving duties for that special person who has been a mother as well as a father in your life.

Because of a myriad number of medical diagnoses, age of Mom as well as mine, I made a decision for placement of my loved one.

Before finding the right assisted living facility and after consultation with family, friends, elder care-care agencies/attorney was initiated. This process took greater than one year because of services that she needed.

There was a lot of angst and trepidation in finding "the one," but I can now say that "my social butterfly" is loving it.

Constantly, I receive text messages with pictures of her in activities. When I visit, my former introvert is now an extrovert. There are kisses and hugs from residents and staff, continually. Mom, "Miss Social Butterfly" is with her peers and happy.
